Natalia Moyano is a lawyer and human rights activist in Rosario, Argentina. She studied law and served as a plaintiff in cases involving crimes against humanity linked to grassroots cultural organizations such as H.I.J.O.S. and the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo in Rosario. Her artistic side is linked to community culture and channeled through the performing arts.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In 2017, she suffered a “forced resignation” from the National Secretariat of Human Rights – along with other professionals – amid accusations of political oppression for using terms like “repressors” and “genocidal” in her legal briefs.<\/p>\n

At the end of March 2024, Natalia Moyano received a threatening note addressed to her and her family, urging her to “come clean in time,” accusing her of her involvement in human rights cases. In this climate of growing harassment and fearing for her family’s lives, Natalia had to make the difficult decision to leave her country.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Natalia Moyano embodies a new generation of legal activists who make the fight for Memory, Truth, and Justice their life’s calling. She has led significant legal proceedings and remains steadfast in the face of intimidation, symbolizing the active resistance of human rights organizations in Argentina.<\/p>\n
